Open-source local audit · Apache-2.0

See what your network already knows. Keep the file with you.

The free Second Ring skill turns an owner-authorized LinkedIn or Google Contacts export into a ranked first-ring report on your computer. It does not make you hand the archive to Second Ring or Local Service Spotlight first.

  • No Second Ring upload
  • No skill telemetry
  • No email gate

Best next actionContact Jamie directly.

High customer fit · recent connection · no introduction hop needed.

One export proves platform-listed direct connections—not closeness or a true second ring.

Local pathThe scanner receives a file path, not a pasted contact list.
Direct firstIf the target is already connected, it never invents an introduction.
Ambiguity visibleName-only collisions stay separate until a human resolves them.
Human actionIt recommends one respectful next step and sends no messages.
Choose the boundary you want

Free intelligence first. Hosted coordination when it helps.

The local skill is a real product, not a crippled lead form. The paid product earns its place only when durable consent, collaboration, and community distribution become useful.

The honest privacy sentence

The scanner sends us nothing. Your computing environment still matters.

The bundled local scanner makes no network requests, so Second Ring and Local Service Spotlight receive nothing from that script. Your AI product, employer-managed device, backup software, or operating system may have separate data policies. Review those policies before opening sensitive files.

On your computerRaw export + local report

Use a local path. Do not paste contact rows into chat. Output defaults to the terminal unless you choose a file.

In the browser scanRaw bytes remain in the tab

The API does not receive or retain the raw archive. A normalized snapshot is saved only when you explicitly activate a paid workspace.

In a hosted workspaceNormalized, permissioned graph

Owner-scoped records support history and consented contributions. Sensitive identity fields receive application-level encryption.

Give away the method

You can inspect, adapt, and run the local scanner.

Apache-2.0 applies to the Second Ring skill directory and bundled scanner. It does not license the hosted application, member directory, private network data, or Local Service Spotlight trademarks.

Before you install

What this does—and does not—promise.

Does one LinkedIn export reveal my second ring?

No. It normally proves only platform-listed direct connections. A supported two-hop path needs separately authorized relationship evidence or a contributor who chose to share their own graph.

Does the skill upload my archive?

The bundled scanner makes no network requests and sends nothing to Second Ring. Give it a local path instead of pasting contact rows into chat. Your AI product and device may have their own data policies.

Is the whole Second Ring product open source?

No. Apache-2.0 covers this skill directory and its bundled local scanner. The hosted application, community systems, private data, and trademarks remain outside that license.

Can I install this in Codex?

This release is packaged and validated for the Claude marketplace. We are not claiming a supported Codex installation path yet.

Why would I ever pay if the skill is useful?

Pay only when you need durable workspaces, multiple consented contributors, shared review, history, and the Spotlight community. The local audit stays useful without an account.

Will Spotlight get me a link or introduction?

No outcome is guaranteed. The product helps document evidence and ask permission through credible paths; people still decide whether to respond, introduce, publish, or link.
